Boycott List

boy·cott

–verb (used with object)

  1. to combine in abstaining from, or preventing dealings with, as a means of intimidation or coercion: to boycott a store.

  2. to abstain from buying or using: to boycott foreign products.

Feel free to not support those in this list who supported Scott Walker in the 2010 election with contributions of over $5,000 or more. If you want to use this list to support these businesses, no one is stopping you. If you want to support some businesses and not others, that’s your judgment call.  Consider it a bit like collective bargaining where everyone gets to contribute to the discussion. Scott Walker and the Fitzwalkerstan Cult. hate that idea.

Some of the businesses who were on this list have been taken off, but there certainly is a great list that contains everyone.

While some may complain that their business is hurt by a boycott, they need to understand that the Walker War on the Working Class takes a LOT of money out of the pockets of the people and customers who would support their businesses if the PACs and their lobbyists hadn’t sucked up to the Fitzwalkerstan Cult. Those who think a boycott is affecting their business need to contact the PAC related to their business that is feeding the Walker Machine behind their backs and express their outrage.

It’s your choice to not give any of those on this list a dime or any business. Tell your friends. Please don’t put labels on store products since it’s illegal and not really effective anyway. If you want your name removed from the list, follow these two easy steps.

Note: What’s been great about this page is that the more the right-wing stooge web sites link to it, the higher the page goes into Google, Bing and Yahoo search engines, hence making the page even more popular! These bankster-apologist web sites generally have about as much of a clue about technology as they do about what’s going on politically, since they get their opinions from college dropouts like Beck, Hannity and drug-addled gasbag Rush Limbaugh. So all you right-wing web sites, please link to this page as much as you can. Search bots love web traffic and this page gets even more traffic. Additionally, please note that this web site is not affiliated with any union or official organization.

  5. Keep on Keeping up the pressure.

It turns out youtube is a great pace to post messages linked to Walker Donor’s.

Bratfest just posted some new videos – which are still available for comments.
    http://www.youtube.com/user/BratManWI#g/a

Also Johnsonville, Briggs & Stratton, AO Smith, Hy Cite, M&I Bank and more have videos on YouTube which could really use some additional comments from the Boycott crowd.

  6. Another round of favoritism to Walker Donors!!!

    http://www.biztimes.com/daily/2011/5/13/gop-bill-could-aid-iron-ore-mine-proposal

State Rep. Mark Honadel, R-South Milwaukee, plans to introduce a bill that would make it easier for iron ore mines to be approved. Iron ore mines should be reviewed in a separate process from how sulfide mine proposals, such as a possible gold mine near Wausau, are reviewed, he said. State Sen. Rich Zipperer, R-Pewaukee, said it is “very likely” he will sponsor a companion bill in the Senate.

Out of state donors Gogebic Taconite LLC donated heavily to Wisconsin’s Temporary Governor Scott Walker and Gogebic is on the Boycott list. Block all chances of this company polluting and exploiting the resources of Wisconsin for their out of state profits. This abomination cannot proceed and the “fast track” legislation from the Milwaukee area favoring Gogebic is untenable. Gogebic Taconite LLC… Wisconsin is CLOSED for your business.

  7. Copy a selection of email addresses from below Paste it in the “TO:”
“CC:” or “BCC:” in your email program I recommend BCC.

These guys are associated with companies who backed Walker.

Write a catchy Subject to get the email opened.

  8. You watch Fox So-Called News way, way too much. Somehow you seemed to think you are clever to mention the bank analogy. Are you blaming unions for how the economy is? Are you for subsidizing oil companies that are making record profits? Do you think that if we had more offshore oil drilling (while oil companies have thousands of approved leases they don’t develop) that some “American” oil company would save the day and make oil cheaper? What “American” oil company is going to save the day? Do you still support tax cuts for the top 1% that haven’t produced the jobs they said would be produced while having them not pay their fair share is causing the ever-expanding deficit?

Unions are a fraction of what they were a few decades ago. But if you believe the Koch Brothers and Rupert Murdoch and their minions, you’d think it was the opposite.

The group that is deluded are the uninformed Tea Party and Republicans who vote against their own interests.

  9. Remember to Boycott BMO Harris when/if the change comes!

    http://www.jsonline.com/business/120987909.html

M&I posts 10th consecutive quarterly loss

In what likely was its last full quarter as a Milwaukee banking company, Marshall & Ilsley Corp. on Friday posted its 10th consecutive quarterly loss.

M&I, which is set to become part of Toronto-based BMO Financial Group this summer, lost $142 million, or 27 cents a share, in the first quarter, compared with a loss of $140.5 million, or 27 cents, in the same quarter in 2010.

The 2½ year losing streak, fueled mostly by the dogged housing slump in states where M&I aggressively had expanded, depressed the company’s stock price and pushed the 164-year-old Milwaukee bank into seeking a healthier takeover partner.

M&I shareholders are scheduled to vote next month on the $4.1 billion acquisition of their company by BMO, which operates Harris Bank from Chicago in the Midwest. After the merger, the M&I name will be dropped and BMO’s banks in the United States will be known as BMO Harris Bank.

  10. Agent of Chaos | April 30, 2011 at 2:53 pm |

I have never seen such a group as deluded as this one.
I’m sure someone will have this post deleted pretty quick because you want your anti-Walker message spread far and wide.
Your paltry boycott is even more than worthless, the only thing you’re doing is sending even more customers to those businesses on your list.
You people remind me of someone that calls up their bank asking why their accounts been closed.
The bank responses that it’s because you’re extremely overdrawn.
And your reply is,”I can’t be out of money, I still have checks left!”

  11. Nearing the End of April 2011, I totaled and estimated (where records lacked) my gasoline purchases since the boycott began:
    StopNGo=$60
    Holiday=$80
    Cenex =$996
    ===========
    $1,136

No Kwik Trip anymore, boycott due to Walker Backing.
No BP, I’ve boycotted them since the oil spill, in Alaska 2006.
No Exxon, I’ve boycotted them since Kyoto 2005 when Exxon money corrupted the process.

Did I stop buying gasoline? Nope.
Net loss to the economy = Zero Dollars.
Any imaginary impacted workers are shifted to the company I patronize.
    Is it union thuggery? Nope.
It is rewarding the company which does not contradict my interests, and disenfranchising those who do contradict my interests.

    Should others do it? ABSOLUTELY.

Where money goes in this economy is as much our responsibility as is how products are made and where waste goes. Own the process.

  12. Um I checked the issues out. Walker according to his once endorsement of the fire union in Milwaukee he lied. But hey tea baggers have no morals, look at Tucson, AZ? FOX w/the rapist O’Reilly showing us w/Palm trees? Guns at protests? Palin, Angle, Rush & the whole lot have maybe 10 active brain cells amongst them. Sources here show whats going on. My dollars are my business where I spend them. If Walker wants to cut throats on a economic scale then well payback on a economic scale will happen. Oh well for the losers like M&I, Kwik Trip, etc. If you hate fre speech then take tea bagging b—- Ron Johnson who in his US Senate race said China was a good place to live & do business, then go to China, take Ron Johnson & Walker w/you please.

  13. Hey let the tea baggers say what they will. See we know they would never let us on the lists they have. So the NAZIs they support become clear. I tried to have 2 talks w/tea baggers while Palin gave her 16 minute speech a few weeks ago.(See she ran out of words hence it lasted only 16 minutes) 1 was half decent the other typical moron tea bagger selling his kids to make the trip I think. Really when Palin had that Tucson John Alt(Atlas Shrugged as tea baggers love dead bodies espcially children) it showed what they are=NAZIS. Let em speak & show the asses they are.

  16. Heartland Advisors. Walker Donor – Boycott Target. Fined $3.9 million by the SEC, no admission of guilt. Still have thousands to donate to Walker.

    http://www.stockbrokerfraudblog.com/2008/02/heartland_advisors_inc_settles.html

Heartland devalued the bonds in October 2000. Shareholders lost some $60 million. The SEC has ordered cease-and-desist proceedings. The order also imposed cease-and-desist actions and remedial sanctions.
Heartland Advisors President William Nasgovitz, Senior VP Kevin Clark, COO Paul Beste, and former employees Greg Winston, Thomas Conlin, Hugh Denison, and Kenneth Della are also named as respondents in the SEC case.
As part of the settlement agreement, all respondents agreed to cease and decease from violating certain federal securities laws. None of them are admitting to or denying the allegations.

Let them know – boycott is onto them, and keep each other aware of other “news” about this group. Better hope your IRA is not invested with someone whose questionable practices will drop your retirement account $60million in value.

Feather Larson & Synhorst now “FLS Connect” raises money for Republican causes. They robo-call, live call, email, junk mail and otherwise contact voters. This company was paid $8million for services in 2010 by the Republican Party. https://opensecrets.org/parties/expenddetail.php?cmte=RPC&txt=FLS+Connect,+Llc&cycle=2010 . And according to http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Feather_Larson_%26_Synhorst_DCI “FLS-DCI specializes in creating phony front groups to make it appear as if there’s a groundswell of support for its clients’ issues”, and in my opinion many of the web comments for Walker are originating with this or very similar groups.
Luckily they make the boycott list because executive Jeffery T Larson of Hudson, WI 54016 had a combined total to Walker’s campaign of $8,000.
Unluckily as a Republican 527 group they are unlikely to falter under a boycott. So We can only bring pressure from other sources. Ask local vendors not to deliver goods or services, to ask for a local zoning or property value evaluation. Trust me there has got to be some fire code violations in there somewhere. Everyone this will take a serious step up to use the power of the internet to alert others of the influence of this group.

  18. Gold Leaf Development. Avoid, move out, or ask them for a Ride in Ronald Felder’s airplane to Florida – just like Scott Walker got. You might be surprised to read about Felder’s past questionable campaign contributions. Like in 2003 when it was reported by
    http://www.wisdc.org/pr051303.php
that he donated over the $10,000 limit. It seems the slap on the wrist was inadequate – so how about if the boycott leans on him a little harder.

They post a little too much on madison.craigslist.org

Drop them a friendly line, on why you will never rent from them, and encourage all your family friends and associates to move out and avoid.

If you will note the criteria for earning a place on this boycott list is quite simple, and is bound by truth.

    TRUTH:

Wisconsin is done with Apache Stainless Steel. Our patronage will go elsewhere, our delivery drivers will abstain, remaining regulators will scrutinize, your customers will be shunned.

  21. @Xenos
Where does one learn such a misguided, convoluted and corrupt way of thinking?

  22. Um well payback is gonna happen. By the way tell me where the NAZI you support that is Walker ever once in the election ever said this is what he would do? Specifically did he campaign on this? Um according to the 1 GOP state Sen Dale Schultz who voted against this nazi supported plan NO. It was not to balance the budget as Walker the human skin lampshade loving pervert supporting(check Whackenhut out)Walker was punked out on the phone call showed.*
*Ok your entitled to your opinon. Facts will rearantge reality as you know it though. When a small man like Walker, the inbred Fitzgeralds & others attack my family, lie about outsiders as the vast majority of protesters in supportof unions were from here.(Tea baggers came from out of state as records show the KOCH INC NAZI machine rolled them in) THEN I can & will say F— NO to those who bankrolled Walker & others. Frankly M&I is not even a state or local bank. Kwik Trip should have thought twice before this & Tom Metcalfe well he can go whine as freely as you. AS for me my opinon is that I support working Americans. NOT freeloading b– from the GOP.

  23. Boycotting donors who gave to the new age nazis is PRO-AMERICAN all the way. See if the NAZIs in the GOP party want to destroy middle class America we have the right to say F-NO to them in where we spend our money. Frankly the unions helped big time make this state great. KOCH INC helped Isle Koch make lampshades out of dead victims in nazi prison camps. The Koch brothers father gave us the Birch society & now the brain dead tea baggers.*
*However I will not boycott the blood thrilling killing machine called Srah Palin. Along w/Sharon Angle they called to murder for the followers of the tea party as witnessed in Tucson, Arizona where this left many dead including a 9 year old girl that seems to be embraced by tea baggers who cannot debate, cannot think so they shoot people including little children in the name of fascism. WE the PEOPLE should let the fascist Palin know this weekend she is a piece of human dung like the nazi supporters we will boycott.

  24. It is a catch 22 as the Union contributes to the Democratic party? I think restructuring public workers would be a more favorable way to see things get done. Such as not taking tenure into account anymore, and the fact that the best person for the job should get it, not the old fashioned way that the longest employed one should. There are plenty of people who would gladly work twice as hard as for the same job, pay and benefits. The winner is everyone, less public employees, and the best are employed. Our best teachers, workers and so on. Cuts the budget, pay the best more, and cut the deficit with less to pay out. I believe that the most of the public employee households are high middle income, not true middle income.

  25. As I am entitled to my opinion as well, it seems sad that this group, of all people should boycott middle class workers. Go ahead, do not buy these products. Sleep well at night knowing some small business may not survive thanks to you, or the stores that carry these products, or manufacture them has a loss, so your neighbors can lose their job. I guess enrolling our children in private schools will solve the problem too? The LARGEST contributors to the Democratic party? Is this reality? WOW, you should be ashamed. There was an election. There is a Change, and the majority spoke, and have better things to do like WORK than to compile a petty website like this. Sorry, it is sad to see neighbor against neighbor in our state.

  26. Boycott “First American Funding” and make sure to watch as they are prosecuted again.

Columbus Company Sued By AG For Telemarketing Violations
More Than 60 Consumers Filed Complaints
    Updated: 12:12 pm CDT March 29, 2011

MADISON, Wis. — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is suing a Columbus mortgage company for allegedly violating the state’s no-call law and engaging in dangerous and misleading business practices.
The lawsuit was filed against the First American Funding Co. in Columbus, which is owned by Michael Eisenga.
Van Hollen’s lawsuit said more than 60 consumers filed complaints with the state Department of Trade, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (DATCP) regarding the mortgage company’s telemarketing practices. DATCP conducted an investigation after getting the complaints.
The lawsuit states that the investigation by DATCP showed the company not only engaged in misleading and deceptive practices while telemarketing, it also made hundreds of thousands of calls to Wisconsin residents registered on the state’s no-call list in 2010.
“This company used extremely misleading language in their telemarketing practices,” Van Hollen said in a statement. “They sometimes even used language that implied they were calling on behalf of the consumer’s home mortgage. When consumers called back, concerned there was a problem with their loan, they were surprised and frustrated to learn it was, in fact, a sales pitch.”
The lawsuit asks for civil forfeitures of $100 for each no-call violation and larger amounts for each direct marketing violation. State officials previously won a judgment against the company for telemarketing violations in 2006.
Officials aid that consumers who believe they might have been harmed by First American Funding Co. should call DATCP at 608-224-4976 or 800-422-7128.

  29. I live in NC and anytime I am going out to buy anything or get a bite to eat anything from now on I will check and make sure, where I am going is not on the boycott list, I am a 4th Generation unionest and will not cross a picket line or buy anything on the boycott list and all union Brother and Sisters should do the same.

  30. May I strongly suggest that home addresses NOT be posted here. I may bring on actions by fringe individuals that aside from being offensive to all, and possibly immoral and illegal, would reflect badly on this movement. And I strongly suggest the moderators of this site make it a policy to remove all home addresses and/or phone numbers listed by anyone for any purpose.

  31. Someone here said the boycott would be unfair to WI workers as well as the employers but I noticed Eli Lilly PAC on the list. Lilly is a company based in Indianapolis. How many others are out of state?
I am a teacher in Michigan, paying close attention to all this as many of my colleagues are.

  32. Democracy@work | March 18, 2011 at 9:00 pm |

Yep, and we’ll also be letting those companies know that we’re supporting them because of their support of Gov Walker.

  33. brianleeapachestainless | March 18, 2011 at 6:17 pm |

Please have Apache Stainless Steel removed from this boycott list. This company has NEVER donated to any policial individual, party or cause. Inaccurate inclusion on this list is damaging to our reputation and business and needs to be rectifed. One would think that a website such as this would be interested in the TRUTH – if not how can anyone trust anything related to it or the causes it supports? Would any of you like to have false rumors spread about you, your family or organization that are detrimental to your reputation – probably not, but it’s OK for your political cause – that is a huge problem in America – we don’t do things that are right – just what benefits our individual cause.
Brian Lee – Controller Apache Stainless

  34. In 2009, on Sept 09, the Finance Dept at Georgia-Pacific Canada here in Brampton Ontario was laid off/throw to the curb. My Cash Applications duties were sent offshore overseas to Manila. The rest of the roles were sent back down to Atlanta GA.
I am still looking for a permanent job to replace the good “Middle Class” job that was taken from me and shifted overseas to Manila. I even had to train my replacement via netmeetings/emails/phone calls.
Had the Front Office at Georgia-Pacific Canada had a Union, I might still be working there.
Unions are the last line of defence for workers. Unions are not perfect by anymeans but they are useful to Society. Corporations have and pay for lobbyists to speak on their behalf, why shouldn’t the Middle Class Worker have the same.

Tami – You’re smug but not very informed. We’ll fight for your rights, too!

  36. wakeupwis | March 4, 2011 at 7:03 pm |

Public workers pay taxes too. Also, now your taxes will go to fund private school for rich kids. That should hurt you plenty because the private schools will not be gining back to the economy. How can you support the damage that he is doing to education, environment and many other things that we are still learning about.

  37. Theresa I know what your saying & the answer is to still boycott them. Frankly till it hurts bottom line corporate America will not end its war on the working class. If the Greenbay Packers were supporting Walker I would not pay them heed, shoot I might if that the case root for the Bears.*
*I have heard that well folks working at M&I have little to do w/bosses handing dollars to Walker! Or Qwick Trip has a really good manner of supporting local business & frankly in the past I liked shopping at Kwik Trips.(as well Tobacco Outlets) Employees yes have no control. I do however have people in unions I know who are under a war by Governor Walker. NO MORE of my dollars when I am aware will go to that mans fascist view of America. It must stop. We are not like Walker threatening anyone, we are though aware & this list shows the money trail. Its accurate. Oh well hockey must suffer I hope for all caring, decent human beings.

  38. We have seen tons of thousands of Wisconsin folks from all over this great state not support Walker. He is simply a fascist thug. He was propped up by billionnaires who are just sick remants of the nazi regime in Germany.(Isle Koch, the only woman nazi convicted criminal) The Birch society has just retransfromed itself. We have caught on quickly. The media from FOX can & will lie. We have this internet to show the truth. We will win. Those on th eside of evil will have to bear witness to it. Come Nov 3rd, 2011 we will have the signatures to recall Walker. Amen, God is on our side!

No stranger to SEC fines and still.
    http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/stories/2004/05/17/daily35.html
Penalties include $80 million in fines assessed against Strong Capital, $60 million in fines against Strong himself, a $35 million reduction in investor fees over five years, and revocation of the licenses of Strong and two company executives. The license revocation denies the three all further opportunities to professionally manage money, said Patricia Struck, administrator of the DFI’s Division of Securities.

Wow – after being fined Strong still has enough money to drop some serious coin into Walker’s coffers.

A recent study showed that public employees in Wisconsin make on average 25% less in wages/salaries than their counterparts in the private sector with the same education. For the study says when you take into consideration wages, pension and health insurance benefits the private sector still makes 8% more than the public sector. So when you compare private against public you need to compare everything not just benefits. Isn’t it interesting how the corporations have workers fighting among themselves i.e. private workers against public workers? Instead it should be middle class workers against the corporations who are shipping our jobs overseas. The problem is the Republican middle class workers are too dumb to realize what is going on.

Due to your company’s support of Scott Walker in the previous election this Cheesehead and his family will no longer be supporting Sargento Cheese. I support Wisconsin’s public employees and their right to collectively bargain. Until your company comes out publicly and denounces Scott Walker’s attacks on workers rights we will not longer purchase your products. Due to Scott Walker’s actions we are becoming very persnickety consumers.

  54. The value of our patronage, no matter how distributed cannot go to Walker’s or a similar campaign. An employee paid from the pool of the value of our patronage who donates to Walker renders the company equally viable a target for this boycott. We are done with degrees of tolerance in this matter.

This is not the result of being under-informed. It is about being literate in the ways of business and the keys to making a business succeed or fail. This is not a time to have unfounded allegiances, or to be fickle in our resolve.

We must be wholly conscientious with our dollars, the dollars with our families, friends, and associates in order to prevent the pooling of monies against our own selfs.

  55. This is relatively accurate. In 1933, Hitler’s party won a controlling minority in the Reichstag. He ran on jobs, the deficit/reparations and security. First, he outlawed and jailed communists. They all cheered. Then trade unionists. Protests quickly quelled by brownshirts. Then intellectuals: university types. Then Jews, Gypsies and Slavs. Nobody liked them! Less than 18 months after Hitler’s election, the camps were being built. When the christian clergy protested, they, too, were arrested and outlawed.
Germany was a highly educated, democratic society. Yes, it can happen here.
Pres Eisenhower predicted this in his 1961 Farewell Speech. Excellent reading for any good Republican.

  56. Boycotts are really ineffective unless tightly focused, and this is just too broad. I’ve a better idea.
It is time to start union organizing across this great state. Walmart, minimum wage shops, etc. Show our citizens the benefits of organized labor. All these disaffected, semi-employed, angry Tea Party folks will see there is a civilized, effective way to get decent pay, decent benefits, and a good lifestyle for their families. Time to get some of our money back from parasites like the Koch Bros.

One defense you can do that strengthens you and weakens the corporate structure is to form supply cooperatives and production cooperatives. It is your money they want. You have to deny them your money energy. Everything you use and consume can be looked at this way. We start with the big ticket items like food, shelter, energy, healthcare and go from there. Anyone who wants to brainstorm the building of model that can be replicated in any society should get a hold of me. growlingchickens@gmail.com

Successful implementation will lead to keeping your wealth and avoiding the vaccuum built by the oligarchy.

  59. Professor Reality | February 26, 2011 at 3:52 pm |

Fascism (pronounced /?fæ??z?m/) is a radical, authoritarian nationalist political ideology. Fascists seek to organize a nation according to corporatist perspectives, values, and systems, including the political system and the economy. Fascism was originally founded by Italian national syndicalists in World War I who combined extreme right-wing political views along with collectivism. Scholars generally consider fascism to be on the far right. Confusion over whether fascism is of the left or right is due to the inability to fit the economic policies into a clear-cut category, because while fascism is considered on the right politically, fascist economic controls were left-wing, though ended up benefiting social groups considered to be supportive of right-wing parties.

Democrats dropped the ball when Doyle was in office by not restoring checks and balances. They looked the other way as he enjoyed the powers put in place by the Tommy admin. Now Squalker is consolodating even more autochratic power.
He can even give state assets away to his corporate overseers. It helps for his overlords to own the media, one way or another, because then they can flood the public consciousness with exagerated anecdotes about lazy overpriced public employees without rebuttal.

This tastes just like 1930’s Germany people. Turn one group of wage earner against the other with lies and then vaccuum up the spoils. This is a practiced science now.

I support the right of workers to organize! But – there is a DIFFERENCE between PRIVATE sector unions and PUBLIC sector unions!!!

Private Sector: Union members sit down at the table with CORPORATE OWNERS to negotiate a bigger piece of the pie. This makes sense – since the workers contribute to the PROFITS of the corporation, they deserve to share in those profits.

Public Sector: Union members are NOT sitting at the table with corporate owners. They are sitting at the table with POLITICIANS who are supposed to represent ALL THE CITIZENS of the entire state.

And unlike the private sector where union workers help make PROFIT for the company, public sector workers do NOT make any profit or create any actual wealth. Rather, their jobs are to SPEND the existing wealth that comes from the taxpayers of the public sector!

In Wisconsin, public workers are demanding the right to sit down at the table and “collectively bargain” with the politicians. OK, fine – but who is MISSING from the table? Answer: the TAXPAYER! It’s the taxpayer’s money that the union members are bargaining for – but the poor taxpayer wasn’t invited to the table! The poor taxpayer has NO representation!

Furthermore, the politicians who are sitting at the table are VERY OFTEN the same politicians who got elected with union contributions! So there is a CONFLICT OF INTEREST! The foxes and the wolves (the unions and the politicians) are deciding how to divide up the sheep (the taxpayers!)

If unions TRUELY believed in “democracy” and the “right to representation” then they should allow the TAXPAYER to the table and allow the TAXPAYER who provides their salary to “negotiate” and “collectively bargain” as well!

Fair is fair! Enough said! Amen!

  64. MAKE SURE TO WEAR A CONDOM WHEN YOU DO SUPPORT THEM, OR SHOULD THEY BE WEARING THE CONDOM? IT’S SO CONFUSING.

  65. Hey kevin, not Kevin,
dave here. Wally tells me the NAMBLA website is back up so you can quit wasting time here. btw Hootie Steve is giving away some of those extra-small condoms you like if you email him a joke about the Koch Brothers.

  66. Hey kevin, not Kevin,
dave here. Wally tells me the NAMBLA website is back up so you can quit wasting time here. btw Hootie Steve is giving away some of those extra-small condoms you like if you email him a joke about the Koch Brothers.

  67. …Kevin won’t understand that. You should’ve used smaller words.
And, they don’t respond well when trying to process facts anyway.
    Hence the “duh.”

  68. No we are not kidding! Walker is a d-bag and your an idiot for giving him any support.

  69. Seriously, you have to be joking! If you count third-party ad buys and PAC contributions, Walker’s financial backers make Barrett’s look like they raised money at a third-grade bake sale. Are you really trying to assert that a Democrat enjoyed larger financial support (this includes hard and soft money) than a Democrat?!?! That’s actually a laughable proposition. Stop listening to Charlie Sykes, he’s destroying your mind.

  70. Dave – no one is saying that we shouldn’t be moving heaven and earth to balance Wisconsin’s budget. There are two simple points: (2) union busting has nothing to do with a balanced budget – its a political power play; and (2) the burden of balancing the budget should not be borne by Wisconsin’s most vulnerable citizens (the poor, children, elderly, and middle-income folks). How about raising the income tax on Wisconsin’s wealthiest individuals? No, Walker won’t do that because they are his biggest contributors.

    This emperor has no clothes.

  71. Point 1: I assume, Kevin, that you never (a) attended any public school; (b) took advantage of a tax break / tax incentive program (like home owner credit); and (c) and no one you know has ever collected a disability, medicare, medicade, or social security benefit. Because if you admit to any one of (a) – (c), then you are a parasite living off the government dime just like the rest of us “cognitively-challenged” folks. Please don’t resort to ridiculous hypocrisy simply because this particular bill doesn’t hit your pocketbook.

Point 2: If Walker was anything other than a union-busting partisan ideologue, and he truly believed that “we all must share the burden,” then he wouldn’t have exempted police and fire unions (whose benefits are BY FAR the biggest cost to the state’s largest municipality) and he would also be advocating an income tax hike to Wisconsin’s richest individuals.

And please don’t respond with some “trickle down” nonsense. Looking only at the years Reagan was in office, when he reduced the highest income tax bracket from 70% to 28%: the share of total income going to the 5% highest-income households grew from 16.5% in 1980 to 18.3% in 1988 and the share of the highest fifth increased from 44.1% to 46.3% in same years. In contrast, the share of total income of the lowest fifth fell from 4.2% in 1980 to 3.8% in 1988 and the second poorest fifth from 10.2% to 9.6%.

Put much more simply – Reagan’s Alternative Minimum Tax hit middle class Americans the hardest by reducing their deductions and effectively raising their taxes, while it simultaneously reduced taxes on the highest income earners (with incomes exceeding $1,000,000). The net effect was to shift the tax burden away from the richest 0.5% of citizens to poorer Americans. Yes, that’s a great idea. Thank you Ronald Reagan.

Reagan also takes credit for increasing federal debt from 33.3% of GDP in 1980 ($997 billion) to 51.9% of GDP ($2.85 trillion) at the end of 1988. So that tax philosophy really worked out.

  72. Use your own brain folks | February 25, 2011 at 7:06 pm |

People! Even if you voted for Walker and think he’s right generally, you can still conclude that he’s dead wrong on union busting. Try using your own mind for a change and quit toeing the ideological party line.

  73. If state workers don’t pay state taxes as you infer to, why do I pay state income taxes out of every paycheck I recive, why is it I have to pay the 5% sales tax on every item I purchase in Wisconsin, after all as a state employee, I do not pay taxes as you imply.

  74. since you think grant money is free money and doesn’t come from tax payers, you are too ignorant for a discussion. Not sure what public-union job you hold but it should not involve cognative ability–because you are challenged in that area.

  75. Thanks!!! Will not use or buy any of these products from Georgia-Pacific.

  76. Oh, that’s right. Those taxes they take out of my public employee check were paid by someone else. Not by me. And not by the outside grant that I had to compete for to get my position funded in the first place. Silly me.

Why is it so hard for people to see that they WANT members of the middle class to turn on each other, rather than paying attention to what’s being done to our state?

  77. Yes, the listing may be made based on individual contributions of people worked for that business. In the case of Sargento — the majority of individual contributions come from the Gentine family who own Sargento Cheese.

  78. You do realize that most of the larger contributors also gave to Barrett or is this just a group of dense haters not understanding politics and only trying to stir the pot?

  79. some don’t support Scott Walker and that list would include you; a parasite which should be cast away.

  80. state workers (and all government) are an expense to the whole economy which is 100% paid for, ultimately, by the private sector…duh

  81. you can Boycott anything you want, that does not help the state budget or our tax’s or stop the state from going the way of Cal. My brpther lives there and says they still have no budget and things are getting worse, and more people losing thier jobs. We will go the same way if things don’t get done to fix our budget.

  82. Darien Riemer | February 23, 2011 at 4:23 am |

And plus, the “majority” you are talking about is a minuscule majority- 52%!

  83. Darien Riemer | February 23, 2011 at 4:22 am |

How can you or anybody believe that the majority is still with this guy when the majority is protesting and hating this guy? People can change their minds, and I think they changed their minds pretty quickly on this one.

  84. Carla Jelinek | February 23, 2011 at 3:02 am |

If everyone supported Scott Walker, this website would not exist. Wake up and smell the coffee.

  85. Maggie Haglund- Bender | February 23, 2011 at 2:02 am |

I did so some further research on this site:http://www.wisdc.org/database.html

And yes, this lists individuals and their employers so the data above is derived from individuals that work at or are affiliated with Sergento Cheese, for example. But it does not necessarily mean that Sergento Cheese as a business supports Walker per se. However, when you have 18 contributions –some as high as 8,000 and some as low as $50 given to the Scott Walker campaign in a period of a few months in 2010. I do think there is warrant to suggest boycotting the company. These individuals are making a profit on the products that I used to spend money on. Just like Craig Leipold has profited from the money spend on the Minnesota Wild.

So yes, individuals have the right to give their money to whatever they would like, but this is in the public sphere. Maybe he will listen to them- if he won’t even bat an eye at 65,000 protesters. It would be good to hear a business or two come out and say they don’t support this piece of legislation.

So do research and make educated decisions on what you Boycott– not only the amount of money but the number of individuals that gave money from that company.

  86. I agree that Scott Walker is acting quite dictatorial. I’m also aware that we who stand in opposition to Mr. Walker have been asked by a Holocaust survivor group (can’t remember which) politely but firmly, to desist from using Holocaust- or Nazi-themed comparisons. Is it possible to edit the parent post and use a different epithet of your choice?

  87. Wisconsin workers stand strong , we can prevail against the commies

  88. This is not what he was elected to do , but we should have known you cant trust a republican. He’s a dictator should be called a NAZI

  89. donthurtmyfamily | February 22, 2011 at 7:48 pm |

Supporters of Scott Walker must like the fact that he gave major tax breaks costing the state. There would be less of a deficit if all WI businesses paid taxes just like I do, and all WI workers. State workers = TAX PAYERS too! Go WI for standing up for workers rights. Don’t let one man dictate what is best for WI.

  90. You must be joking…everyone supports Scott Walker, and thank God they do!!! He is an awesome leader and I’m very proud to have helped him as so many good Wisconsin businesses have also wisely done; as evidence by the lengthy list of excellent supporters.

  91. Before any of your initiate some sort of boycott, I highly suggest you do a little more research of your own. It is unwise to take things at face value.

For example, I have to admit I was highly disappointed to find my favorite team, the Minnesota Wild, listed. I found that “odd” so I decided to do a little more research. Please notice that the bigger of the two lists has the heading of “employer.” All that means is that people who work for such and such employer donated money. In the case of the Minnesota Wild, the only donations came from team owner, Craig Leipold (former owner of Nashville Predators….also married into the SC Johnson family). The team itself did not send a check to Walker’s campaign, simply one “employee” albeit the owner, did. Am I disappointed in Leipold? Most definitely. Am I surprised? No, as he has a history of being anti-union, even though he has many union employees underneath him. However, I will say that his unionized players live in a much different world than your average person in a public or private union.

So please. Get out there and make yourself more informed. Do not base your decisions on a list such of this that leaves out a lot of pertinent information.

  92. A majority obviously supported Walker and these companies are in tune with what the majority wants! No boycott by the majority.

  93. The majority of the state says no Support!!!!
