Koch Brothers spend $700,000 for ads to pollute Wisconsin with Walker lies and propaganda

Koch Brothers Scott Walker

We’ve heard the claptrap from Scott Walker when courageously showing up for Fox News softball interviews to say that outside interests are spending tons of money trying to trash him and his precious wonderments he has spawned on Wisconsin. He makes no mention that the Koch Brothers have been spending lots of money already trying to stop the recall efforts and have failed. Whenever you see a pro-Walker ad on TV with “Americans For Prosperity” or “The MacIver Institute” in the final seconds of the ad, you know it’s coming from the Koch Brothers.

Wisconsin’s political spending blitz is getting a fresh infusion of cash from a national conservative group that’s spending $700,000 on a series of commercials touting the accomplishments of Gov. Scott Walker.

The nonprofit foundation of Americans for Prosperity, the group founded by billionaire conservative activists David and Charles Koch, on Thursday confirmed to Washington Post blogger Greg Sargent that it purchased air time across Wisconsin for a 60-second spot and another ad to be unveiled next week. The ads do not mention Walker by name.

The MacIver Institute, a Wisconsin-based think tank, partnered with Americans for Prosperity for the spots.

MacIver spokesman Brian Fraley said the organization does not discuss the nature of ad buys, other than to confirm they are running. He said MacIver had been running spots on and off for several months.

Once the ads make it on the airwaves, they will be picked apart for the lies and distortions with corrections and other true fun facts. Seeing how their efforts were in vain leading up to the Recalls, we can guess that people are not as stupid or gullible as the Koch Brothers or Scott Walker think.
