Andrew Breitbart, who has called himself “Matt Drudge’s bitch”, has been bragging that he’s in Madison at the protests and you can just imagine the timing behind the bogus story about doctors handing out sick notes to teachers at the rallies.
He was recently exposed as a crappy editor and Koch Brothers errand boy who attempted to portray former USDA employee Shirley Sherrod in a chopped-up, out of context “video” portraying Sherrod bragging about discriminating against a white farmer. He was discredited just as fellow Matt Drudge friend and gay escort Jeff Gannon was during the Bush administration playing a fake reporter in White House press briefings. All of them are very good friends with recently divorced Karl Rove.[audio:http://scottwalkerwatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/anything.mp3|autostart=no]
Then there’s Koch Brothers’ PAC American For Prosperity, who fund the right-wing MacIver Institute. Christian Hartsock, who is part of the institute, issued the video showing people getting a valid doctors excuse in order to be excused for their absences. One of the people in the video signed a document with her name and birth date and was issued a doctor’s form. Was she actually a teacher? No. Did she give the impression to the doctor issuing the form that she was? Yes.
Hartsock, who implies he was handed a doctor’s note even though he supposedly mentioned that he was from California and wasn’t used to the cold, took the form. Even Hartsock says that the forms were issued to teachers who are feeling sick due to emotional, mental or financial distress. Exactly what would he do with the form? Walk into a school and say he’s a teacher and wants the day off?
That video shows exactly what liars do. They lie. They are deceptive. Just like Breitbart.
Speaking of more lying, reports that tea party supporters were “in the hundreds” yesterday. That was an exaggeration as much as Walker’s usual claptrap. Now, of course, Fox News are reporting it was in “the thousands”. Tomorrow, they will report it was in “the millions”! Scott Walker Watch staff there at the rally site could comfortably say there were perhaps 200 people there representing the pro-Walker supporters.
As for teachers actually getting sick, there are certainly valid excuses why they are protesting in the street and not just laying down and allowing right-wing union busting bought-out politicians to get their way or the highway.
Teachers, who are looking at losing their rights from Walker’s tactics, may be suffering from exhaustion and sleep loss:
Exhaustion can also lead to low serotonin, which causes depression, anxiety and insomnia. Chronic sleep loss and overwork can contribute to both long-term and acute health problems, including depression, heart disease and gastrointestinal distress.
Teachers, who are looking at losing their rights from Walker’s tactics, may be suffering from chronic stress:
Chronic stress disrupts nearly every system in your body. It can raise blood pressure, suppress the immune system, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, contribute to infertility, and speed up the aging process. Long-term stress can even rewire the brain, leaving you more vulnerable to anxiety and depression.
The forms, handed out with the intent that the people requesting the forms were honest, were for teachers (not lying, deceptive right-wing propagandists) who had emotional, mental or financial distress from Walker’s impending power grab for the Koch Brothers agenda to destroy the working and middle class.
One report from a doctor there in Madison essentially tells the story behind the forms:
On Saturday, family physician Lou Sanner, 59, of Madison, said he had given out hundreds of notes. Many of the people he spoke with seemed to be suffering from stress, he said.
“What employers have a right to know is if the patient was assessed by a duly licensed physician about time off of work,” Sanner said. “Employers don’t have a right to know the nature of that conversation or the nature of that illness. So it’s as valid as every other work note that I’ve written for the last 30 years.”
Besides being a ginned-up story that right-wing media channels like Fox News taking reports from discredited faux-journalists, it is meant to be a media distraction from the real reason why there are so many thousands of people (not just public workers) are in the streets.
The real issue is Walker’s rushed attempts at union busting. The Governor doesn’t want to sit at the table with unions even though they have offered to take cuts, so it’s not about the money needed to pay off on state deficits.
It’s about union busting. That’s disgusting.
